Primary School & College Programs

Are you in a school/college Equestrian club? Or would like to bring and Equestrian club to your school? LNS can provide the perfect program for you! Since opening our Equestrian Center in 1991, we have been providing safe riding and horse care instruction to grade schools in our surrounding area. Our programs are tailored for multiple primary school levels, and are always looking to tailor each program for your needs!

We host both Westminster and Grove City Colleges Equestrian Clubs. We work in conjunction with their student government organization. For further information, please contact your clubs' president.

If you are looking for a fun new club to bring to your school or college, check out our programs and get in touch with us! We are always looking for input and new ideas for programs that suite your needs, so feel free to ask any questions!

Since we are a working farm, not all areas are ADA compliant, so consult with us if you have a special needs student and we will make accommodations to the best of our ability for program participation.

Our INVESTIGATE program offers a 1 hour tour of our facility! This program can also be adapted to any age level group if a community organization or family group wants to see life from a horse’s perspective!

  • $50 per group (group size 12 or less) or $5/student for additional students (24 Maximum).

  • Must be able to walk on different terrain and follow directions. Includes petting/brushing a pony, but no riding.

EXPLORE Grades 3-6
& Grades 7-12

Grades 3-6: With our EXPLORE program, we offer the above tour with the addition of instruction on the psychology of the horse, as well as safety around horses! Also included is further instruction on riding basics, riding equipment, care of the horse, cleaning a stall, as well as grooming and tacking. This experience includes a short time in the saddle with a side walker or on a lead-line, depending on the age of the student! This is a 1.5 hour to 3 hour time commitment for groups of 8-24 students.

Grades 7-12: We offer the same EXPLORE experience as above at the same price, but there is a weight limit of 180 pounds for riders which may affect the number in your group who can participate in the riding portion of the experience. Unfortunately, there is no discount for this scenario.

  • $40/student. Larger groups may be eligible for a small discount, though the maximum at any one time  is 24 students.

  • This program includes saddle time. See more information at the bottom of the page regarding clothing requirements

*We can also include a sketching opportunity for students grades 3-12 to have a physically distanced quiet time in the country!*

For years we have been working with Grove City and Westminster College students in our College Program offered here at LNS. We work directly with both administrations and student government to bring the equestrian world to their school programs. Both Westminster and Grove City have an Equestrian Club or team, and our program brings those clubs to our Equestrian Center for safe and instructive lessons! If your college has an equestrian club, or you would be interested in bring a new club to your school, we can make it happen! If you are a college student and are just looking for individual lessons, our program is right for you too! Contact us for more information, and we will get you and your school in the saddle!
